Becoming a Doula in 2012 was a life changing decision and lead to a fulfilling journey for me that began in 1979 with my own birth experiences. I was fortunate to have had two easy pregnancies. In contrast to some of my friends and family, I loved every minute of being pregnant and sharing my joy with pregnant friends. I delivered my daughter in May of 1979 at Doylestown Hospital in Bucks County, PA. Both my husband and I were trying to explore living a more holistic lifestyle through healthy eating and exercise which opened the door to entertaining the option of a drug free delivery and breast feeding. In 1981 I delivered our son at the Booth Maternity Center with a midwife after another uncomplicated and pleasant pregnancy. It was another beautiful natural delivery and the midwife experience was very special. My own birth experience helped shape my belief that every birth is beautiful and positive however it proceeds.
I strive to support parents in all and any choices they make during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. I have attended natural births, births with epidurals, inductions, VBACs, and more. Each birth is unique and I support moms equally in every situation.
I am a certified DONA International Birth Doula (http://www.dona.org), Birth Arts International Trained Postpartum Doula, a Prenatal Yoga teacher, and am trained in acupressure for labor support.
